Introducing PlayMC v2: A New Standard for Free Minecraft Subdomains
PlayMC v2 is the largest update in the platform’s history, introducing a completely redesigned experience, server status monitoring, and new partnership opportunities for hosting providers.
Introducing PlayMC v2
Today, SeptyStudios is officially launching PlayMC v2, the largest and most significant update in the history of PlayMC. This release introduces a completely redesigned platform, new server monitoring capabilities, improved address management, and new partnership opportunities for hosting providers.
PlayMC v2 is more than a visual update. We have rebuilt the platform to provide a faster, clearer, and more professional experience for Minecraft server owners, developers, hosting companies, and online communities. The new version also creates a stronger technical foundation for the features and improvements we plan to introduce in the future.
Why We Created PlayMC
PlayMC was created around a simple principle: a developer’s financial situation should not limit their ability to build, experiment, and grow.
Creating a Minecraft server or launching an online project already involves infrastructure, configuration, development, security, and community management. For smaller projects and independent developers, even basic expenses can become unnecessary barriers. We believe that having a professional and memorable server address should not be one of them.
Through PlayMC, users can create free subdomains for their Minecraft servers and replace difficult-to-remember numerical IP addresses with cleaner, easier-to-share addresses. Our objective is to make server addresses more accessible without requiring users to purchase or configure their own domain.
PlayMC is not currently operated as a source of revenue for SeptyStudios. Maintaining the platform requires infrastructure, development time, security work, and continuous support, but we have chosen to provide the core service free of charge because we believe it creates real value for the community.
We do not believe that useful tools should only be available to established companies or projects with large budgets. Many successful communities began as small projects managed by a single person with limited resources. PlayMC exists to support those projects from the beginning.
A Completely Redesigned Experience
The most visible change in PlayMC v2 is the new design. The entire platform has been rebuilt with a cleaner interface, improved navigation, and a more consistent visual identity.
The dashboard now provides a clearer overview of your addresses and makes important actions easier to access. Address creation and management have been simplified, account information is presented more clearly, and the overall platform now reflects the professional standard we want PlayMC to represent.
This redesign is not limited to appearance. Behind the interface, we have also improved the structure of the platform to make future development more efficient and to support additional features as PlayMC continues to grow.
Integrated Server Status
PlayMC v2 introduces integrated server status monitoring for registered addresses. Users can now check the availability of their Minecraft servers directly through the platform and view relevant server information without relying on separate external tools.
This feature provides server owners with a faster way to verify that their server is online and that their PlayMC address is configured correctly. It also gives users a more complete overview of the services associated with their account.
Server status monitoring is an important step in our long-term plan for PlayMC. Our objective is to develop the platform beyond basic subdomain management and provide practical tools that help server owners manage the public presence of their projects.
Introducing the PlayMC Business Plan
Alongside PlayMC v2, we are introducing the PlayMC Business Plan, created specifically for Minecraft hosting companies and professional infrastructure providers interested in establishing a partnership with SeptyStudios and PlayMC.
We recognize that hosting providers have different requirements from individual users. They need reliable services, professional communication, scalable solutions, and tools that can be integrated into the experience they provide to their customers.
Eligible hosting companies may receive the PlayMC Business Plan free of charge. Each partnership request will be reviewed individually to ensure that the collaboration is relevant and beneficial for both parties.
Business partnerships may include access to business-focused functionality, closer technical communication, priority assistance, promotional collaboration, and potential integrations with hosting platforms. The exact benefits and terms may vary depending on the company and the proposed partnership.
Hosting providers interested in working with us can contact:
Please include your company name, website, the services you provide, information about your infrastructure or customer base, and a short description of the partnership you are proposing. Our team will review the request and provide additional information.
Our Commitment to Free Access
The launch of PlayMC v2 does not change the principle on which the platform was built. Free access remains a fundamental part of our mission.
We believe developers should be able to learn, test ideas, create servers, and build communities without being prevented by their financial circumstances. A limited budget should not prevent a promising project from presenting itself professionally.
Providing a free service at scale comes with real operational costs. Infrastructure must be maintained, systems must be secured, abuse must be prevented, and the platform must continue to evolve. Nevertheless, SeptyStudios remains committed to supporting PlayMC because we believe the service provides meaningful value to its users.
PlayMC is our contribution to the Minecraft server and development community. It is a platform designed to remove unnecessary barriers and give projects of every size access to a simple, recognizable, and professional server address.
Built by SeptyStudios, Created for the Community
PlayMC is an official SeptyStudios project. It is designed, developed, and maintained by our team as part of our commitment to building accessible digital services.
Although PlayMC is developed by SeptyStudios, the direction of the platform is strongly influenced by the people who use it. User feedback helps us identify problems, improve existing functionality, and decide which features should be prioritized.
Every address created through PlayMC represents a server, an idea, or a community. Whether the project belongs to an established hosting provider or someone launching their first Minecraft server, we want the platform to provide the same reliable and professional experience.
Security, Reliability, and Responsible Use
As PlayMC grows, security and platform reliability remain priorities. We are continuing to improve our internal systems, address validation processes, monitoring tools, and protection against abuse.
Maintaining a free platform also requires responsible use from its users. PlayMC addresses must not be used for malicious, deceptive, illegal, or abusive activities. Accounts and addresses that violate our terms may be restricted or removed to protect the platform and its community.
These measures allow us to keep PlayMC available, stable, and trustworthy for legitimate server owners, developers, and businesses.
What Comes Next
PlayMC v2 establishes the foundation for the next stage of the platform. This release is not the end of development; it is the beginning of a broader plan for PlayMC.
We intend to continue improving address management, server monitoring, platform performance, documentation, security, and business collaboration options. We are also evaluating additional tools that could help server owners manage and promote their projects more effectively.
Future updates will be introduced carefully, with a focus on reliability and genuine usefulness. We do not want to add features simply to make the platform appear larger. Every addition should solve a real problem or meaningfully improve the user experience.
Thank You for Being Part of PlayMC
We would like to thank everyone who has used PlayMC, shared the platform, reported an issue, or provided feedback. Your support has helped us understand what the platform needs to become.
PlayMC v2 represents an important milestone for SeptyStudios, but it also represents our continued commitment to the developers, server owners, companies, and communities that rely on accessible online infrastructure.
We are proud of what we have built, and we are looking forward to the next stage of PlayMC.
PlayMC v2 is now available.
